Protocol for Entry: Pre-registration is required as onsite registration will not be offered. Entry to the Fall 2024 Computer Science Career and Internship Fair will be limited to registered students from select majors and programs (see below). All eligible students may enter the fair on a first-come, first-serve basis within their group. Students will not have a time restriction in the fair. Registration will close on Monday, September 23 at 6:00 am.
- Name Badges: Name badge pickup will not be a separate event. No badge will be issued in advance of the fair.
- Eligible Majors: The Spring 2024 Computer Science Career and Internship Fair is only open to Computer Science undergraduate and graduate students, Computer Science Alumni, and current students from the programs listed above. In order to ensure fairness and consistency regarding eligibility requirements, the Department of Computer Science is unable to grant exceptions for majors/programs not featured on this list.
- Letters and Sciences (LTSC): Students in Letters and Sciences (undeclared) are not eligible to attend the fair. Upon successful (future) matriculation into one of the eligible majors, you will be able to register and attend the fair. In order to ensure fairness and consistency regarding eligibility requirements, the Department of Computer Science is unable to grant exceptions.
- Request for Exceptions: Requests for exceptions lay at the discretion of the Special Events Coordinator, on behalf of the Department of Computer Science. Requests for exceptions are not guaranteed, and will be reviewed and assessed on a case-by-case basis. Decisions are rendered based on a number of factors to include the degree of circumstance accompanying the request, number of registered students per group, and room capacity. Student entry may be delayed (or refused) the day of the fair to comply with University Fire Safety regulations pertaining to room capacity, mandatory aisles, and fire exits. Exceptions to all regulations lay at the discretion of the University Fire Marshal.
- Expectations: Students attending the fair are expected to comply with fair protocol set forth by the Department of Computer Science, including the entrance time assigned to their group. If you have any questions about any protocol or guideline, please email cscareerfairs@umd.edu.
- Wait Times: Due to the popularity of this event, students may experience a wait or lines to check-in or enter the fair. In all situations, the Department of Computer Science will make a good faith effort to expedite the check-in process, minimize wait times, and ensure a positive experience for students and employers.
- Directions: Ballroom maps will be provided to each student at check-in. In addition, signage and directions will be posted at entry and exit doors in the Grand Ballroom.
- Accommodations & Accessibility: The Department of Computer Science is committed to creating and maintaining an accessible and inclusive fair experience to all students. Any student in need of accommodation to attend the Career Fair, navigate the space, or talk with employers, contact the Special Events Coordinator at cscareerfairs@umd.edu and cc’ Accessibility and Disability Service at adsfrontdesk@umd.edu at least one week prior to the fair to request disability accommodations.

COVID- 19 Guidelines
- University of Maryland Campus Guidance: All visitors on campus are expected to abide by the UMD campus health and safety guidelines found here. Before coming to campus, you must check for common COVID-19 symptoms.
- Mask Requirements: COVID-19 vaccination is not required, however, COVID-19 vaccines are strongly recommended. Students, faculty and staff do not need to be tested regularly. Masks: Wearing a mask is not required while indoors. However, wearing a high-quality mask is recommended for added protection.
Entry to the Computer Science Career & Internship Fair | Fall 2024 will be limited to registered students from the majors and programs listed below. However, students will not be restricted in terms of the length of time spent in the fair.
