Piazza
We will be using (cmsc131 Piazza) for class communication. Regarding Piazza:

Posting of code is not allowed is Piazza. Anyone posting
any kind of code may receive an XF in the course.

In Piazza you can see the class announcements by selecting
"Resources", "Course Information".

If you filter piazza messages in your e-mail application,
make sure messages that start with "[Instr Note]." are not
placed in the junk folder.

You are responsible for checking class announcements done in Piazza.

You will not be able to register to Piazza yourself.
Your instructor will register you using the e-mail you have in the
school system.. If you would like to use a different
e-mail address see your teaching TA in lab.

If you access the Piazza link above and it asks for
an access code, try the following:
- Visit http://www.piazza.com.
- Click "log in" on the top right.
- Click "forgot password."
- Enter the e-mail address registered to piazza (e-mail
address registered with the school).
- Access your e-mail account to receive a link that will bring you
to the registration site.
Reducing Piazza E-mail Messages
Feel free to stop e-mail messages Piazza sends by updating
the email settings. You can change the settings by selecting
the wheel that appears in the right upper side of the Piazza
interface and selecting "Account/Email Settings". You can
select "No Emails" for our course. Notice that your instructor can
still send messages through Piazza, regardless the settings you
have chosen.
If you change your e-mail notifications, make sure you visit
Piazza often for announcements and project clarifications we
have made.

What is Not Allowed

Posting any kind of code.

Requesting or providing information/suggestions on how to implement
a project.

Requesting or providing information on how to pass a public or release test.

If in doubt, it is best if you let a staff member address any question
a student has posted; this will prevent any misunderstandings.
What is Allowed

Questions about Eclipse/Unix.

Requesting information on how to submit a project.

Asking where a project description, examples, etc. can be found.

Requesting clarification of concepts covered in class or class examples.

Administrative issues like class cancelation, deadlines, office
hours, TA missing, etc.
- Examples of valid postings associated with projects

Do we need to use arrays?

Can we use global variables?

Do we need to provide student tests?
Before You Post

Make sure you check class announcements as the answer to your question
might be there.

Read the assignment description carefully. Often questions
posted in Piazza are already addressed in the description.
