Detecting suicidality from social media text (Advisor: Philip Resnik)
We are exploring new methods/features for detecting suicidality from social media text.
We participated in CLPsych 2017 shared task on triaging ReachOut forum posts.
Our team stood 3rd among 16 participants in the task.

Bike Route Purpose Classification and Route Choice using GPS data (Advisor: Vanessa Frias-Martinez)
We developed a system to classify the purpose of the bike trip given the GPS data ofthe route undertaken.
Our baseline system comprised of spatio-temporal features of the trip.
Further, we added features related to physical and social environment extracted from open-datasets,
road network and graph-based features and demographics of the rider.
