Player Characters
The following is the common, publicly known story of the player
characters. It can be assumed that anyone in Amber who isn't living
under a rock knows this information, and those that do live under
rocks can quickly learn it.
- Akira - Akira's smiling face has been a familiar sight in
Amber since Corwin and Dara were crowned. She enjoys castle life and
is always dressed in the latest fashions from the city, or from the
various Shadow worlds she visits over the years. Championing several
public medical facilities, she actively promotes the distribution of
basic health care to the less fortunate. ( played by Tanda)
- Ariadne - A recent addition to the
Court of Amber, this passionate, petulant young woman has seen a fast
rise, from her status of ward of the Queen to her current position as
Royal Trump Artist. While little is known of her past before her
arrival at the Court, shortly after Andreas attempt on Dara, her life
in Amber, which she rarely leaves, has been an open book ever since,
and her short-lived, stormy romance with Merlin has been the delight
of the gossipmongers. A familiar presence both at the Castle and in
the City, she is a fervent amateur of theater and concerts, and finds
moments of solitude sailing or riding in Arden. (played by JP)
- Brennus - Brennus is the first legitimate heir of Corwin
and Dara and was born eight months after Corwin's death. He grew up
within the court of Amber, and was instructed in the gentlemanly
arts. Brennus has a reputation for upholding the rules of
honour. Brennus took part in the wars against Coraline and
Eregnor. After Coraline he spent fifty years traveling in shadow, it
is rumoured that Brennus and Dara had a quarrel that prompted his
absence from Amber after the war with Eregnor; by all accounts he
traveled in Shadow for another ten years. (played by Jedric)
- Conall - Who? Huh? Amber's Royal
Intelligence Agency can neither confirm nor deny the existence of this
individual. (played by amberpup)
- Laughing Boy - Laughing Boy is a
Guild scientist who is also acknowledged to be of the blood. He is
persona non grata at the Castle, but maintains a residence in Amber
City and is a known Trump Artist who has made himself available to
those loyal to the Queen for either of his professional skills. He has
never been seen without his armor - skin-tight, quite durable and
silvery-metallic - and his mask, that of the Laughing Face from the
emblem of the theater. (played by SisyphusX)
A sample of Laughing Boy's voice is available in MP3 format. He is saying, "Hello. It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Laughing Boy."
- Mordred - Mordred, while not of
the Royal Blood, has been given leave, by the crown, to establish an
academy for Blood Sorcerers on the coast. The Archetypal Magus in his
Ivory Tower, surrounded by his students one moment; he is the
consummate courtier and diplomat at a Court function the next, as well
as an active patron of the Arts, Trade and Craftspeople. A proud
practitioner of Blood Sorcery, he is not known to have ever used
anything but himself as a source for his powers - and published a
manifesto laying out a strict set of rules and strictures for the
behavior of Magi. In fact he tracked down and utterly destroyed three
former students who had gone rogue and were slaughtering Shadow folk,
leaving nothing - not even their ashes - behind. (played by Drakwnic)
- Roland - Although not a common
sight in Amber, Roland's presence is not unfamiliar. He has been
around Amber since Eric's time if not longer. The Duke of Evermoor (or
the Barbarian of Evermoor he is sometimes called due to his gruff
manner and appearance) is a massive man with red/blond messy hair and
matching beard with ice blue eyes. His homespun cloths and green cloak
of skins and feathers seem out of place in Amber. Not that he
cares. His apparent indifference, however, can swing suddenly to
violent rage. The rumors of these rages cause most to tread lightly
around him and are talked about in taverns all throughout the city
long after the incident has occurred. His great ax, Y'Geseth, is
always with him and Roland always appears ready to swing it. Ever
since Patternfall his visits to Amber seem forced. He appears like a
caged animal, pacing and waiting... (played by poppalee)
Canon Characters
What has happened to your favorite Elders in this new twisted
upside-down world? Where are they now?
- Benedict - Lord Protector and guardian of Dara. Benedict
still possesses the mechanical arm given to him by Corwin. His loyalty
to Dara is unquestioned.
- Bleys - Off in Shadow, thought to be plotting a takeover of
Amber. Bleys is currently under a sentence of death by the crown for
plotting the assassination of the Queen.
- Brand - The legendary traitor of Amber was last seen
falling into the Abyss at the edge of Chaos with several silver arrows
embedded in him. Presumed dead.
- Caine - Duke of Corraline. Caine was appointed as Duke of
Corraline by Dara for unspecified services to the Crown, though he is
very seldom seen in Court. It is rumored that he serves as Dara's
spy master. It is also rumored by others that he is plotting rebellion
against the crown. Dara seems to take no heed of the rumors, and
Caine remains alive and well.
- Corwin - Former King of Amber and husband of Dara. Corwin
died nine months after taking the crown, apparently from injuries
sustained at the end of the Patternfall War. Many believe Dara is
responsible for his death, and others believe his death was faked and
that Corwin still wanders Shadow.
- Dara - Queen of Amber, Princess of Chaos, and former wife
of Corwin of Amber.
- Deidre - Lost in the Abyss, presumed dead.

Corwin made up his visits with Dworkin, and that Dworkin died years
before the Patternfall War. Others believe he died when Oberon
attempted to fix the Pattern.
- Eric - Died in the Patternfall War. His rule is remembered
with great fondness by many in the kingdom.
- Fiona - Princess Fiona has not been seen in Amber since the
end of the Patternfall War. For years rumors of sightings of her filled

waiting in Shadow for an opportunity to seize the throne. Such talk
has largely faded through the long years.
- Florimel - Serves the crown as an emissary to the Golden
Realms.
- Gerard - Served as Regent in Amber for seven years during
the final battle of the Patternfall War. He counseled peace during
the beginning of Dara's reign, but has become more conflicted since

with Queen Dara.
- Llewella - Llewella has not been seen outside of Rebma since
Corwin died.

are unknown. Martin is thought to be a ranking member of the Guild.
Martin is also the Duke of Eregnor, though he leaves most of the governing
of the province to the local officials.
- Merlin - Oldest son of Dara, and Prince of Amber. Though
not Crown Prince, he is often thought by many to be the heir to the
throne. Merlin is a constant voice of opposition against the Guild
within the royal court.

circumstances.
- Oberon - Died on Primal Pattern trying to save Amber.
- Random - Led a rebellion against Dara, but failed. He is

undersea kingdom before launching his rebellion.

no Luke/Rinaldo, nada!
Other Non-Player Characters
- Andreas - Son of Bleys, who attempted to take the life of
Dara. He was slain by Benedict. Investigations revealed links to his
father. As a result, Bleys' life was declared forfeit, but before the
sentence could be carried out Bleys fled into Shadow.
- Lir - King of Rebma, who took the throne upon the death of
Queen Moire. Lir has some unspecified hatred for Queen Dara and has
threatened to execute any of her line who dare enter his watery realm.
- Merek - Dara's third son was born many years after Corwin's
death. His father remains unknown, but none dare question the Queen
about her bastard son. Merek exploits his royal position to the
fullest, in order to pursue his hedonistic lifestyle.
Faces at Court
Some of the more lively, and memorable, faces to be seen at court
are listed below. They are likely only known to those who spend
significant time at Court.
- Lord Alexander Delany - A quiet man, whose parents
confessed to aiding Random's rebellion a decade ago. Their confession
apparently saved the lives and fortunes of Alexander and his older
sister Florence.
- Lord Malcom Chantris - This elderly man is still regarded
as one of the heroes of the Patternfall War. He often acts as an
adviser to the Crown, though his voice has grown weak with old age.
His final years may be upon him, and it is thought that when he dies,
control of his noble house will pass to his granddaughter Melonie. It
is rumored that he has frequented the Guild headquarters in Amber to
receive advanced medical treatment.
- Sir Corwin Rein - Son of the Lord Rein who fought with
Corwin against the Weirmonken. He is named after his father's patron.
The years have seen much wealth and prestige brought to his family,
and with his father's death several years ago (due to old age), Corey
(as he prefers to be called) has assumed control of House Rein. He
fought with valor during the War, but lost his leg in battle. It has
since been replaced with one of Guild origin.
- Lady Florence Delany - Head of the now impoverished House
Delany. Her brother and her are the last surviving members of their
family, since her parents were executed by Dara a decade ago in one of
the Queen's Purges.
- Lady Larisa Ranir - This determined woman leads House
Ranir, despite her son's timid nature. Despite her age, she is still
considered a woman of beauty, and has had several suitors since her
husband's death.
- Gaius Orice - Member of the Orice trading family. He has
often been seen at Prince Merek's parties.
- Lady Jasminda Feldane - Her great uncle Lord Feldane fought
at the battle in Chaos, and was well honored upon his return. He and
much of the rest of his family were wiped out in one of Dara's purges.
The young lady Jasminda does not appear to have inherited the family's
famous nobility, but has grown to be feared as a women of ruthless
power. Many suspect her of having engineered the purge which wiped
out the rest of her family; suspicions that have grown given her
familiarity with the Queen and other members of the royal family.
- Justin Sankir Orice - The elderly head of the Orice trading
house is now bedridden and has not been seen in decades. He still
sends messages, via his son, to court, so his voice has not been
silenced. His old age has become legendary, and some even say that he
is dead, but that his son, Gaius, continues to act using his father's
name.
- Lord Jeremiah Ranir - Heir to House Ranir, Jeremiah is a
persistent face at court, though he tends to avoid any political
debates. His father died in a battle during the Black Purge, and his
older brother, Eric, fell to his death from a castle balcony early during
Dara's reign. He seems to go to great effort to avoid being a target
in one of Dara's purges.
- Sophia - While she is not from a noble house, this shy
woman has recently enthralled the court with her beauty. She appears
to be engaged to Sir Rein.
