Ron Geesin

• Ron Geesin is listed as the co-author of one of the most ambitious Pink FLoyd's pieces - Atom Heart Mother. Ron scored the orchestration for the composition. It is interesting, however that Ron considered the final result "a bloody disaster". He was present at the July 18, 1970 show at Hyde Park, and "left in tears".

• Ron was the person who proposed Roger Waters to screen the newspaper headlines for the title of Atom Heart Mother.

• In 1970, Ron Geesin and Roger Waters recorded a soundtrack to the documentary The Body. Roger Waters wrote 4 and co-wrote 3 more songs for the album, with Ron Geesin being responsible for the remaining 15 tracks.

• In 1973, Ron Geesin recorded a song To Roger Waters wherever you are. This song is sometimes considered to be a parody of Roger's Several Spiecies ... from Ummagumma. There was even a rumour that Pink Floyd members were watching Ron record this song and enjoyed themselves immensely during the session. Ron Geesin has recently indicated that the abovementioned rumor is not true and that the song was not in fact a parody of Several Spiecies:.

  "If there was any intention to parody 'Several Species ..', it was subconscious. Certainly none of the Floyd was present at the recording: I always work alone in the studio."

  This song can be found on A Saucerful Of Pink tribute album, released in 1995. Originally it appeared on As He Stands album, released in 1973. It can also be found on 1995 2CD set Land Of Mist.

• In 1969 Ron Geesin toured together with Roy Harper. At that time he met and befriended Nick Mason and later, Roger Waters.

• Ron participated in the recording of Pete Townshend's album Happy Birthday (Meher Baba) and was an opening act for The Who on a number of occasions.

• Ron Geesin opened shows for one Genesis tour in Great Britain early in seventies.
