I will also note that the recently passed ECMA C#/CLR/CLI standard
does not require a single global ordering, so at least that
group has come to a different conclusion than what is proposed
in the paper.

I still think this is OK.
Ever since lack of total ordering came up a year or so ago, we've been
unable to come up with any realistic examples where this would make
any difference in how people program. Even the strained and
unrealistic examples (like the ones posted last summer (see archives
around 22july01)) are particularly strained and unrealistic.
