The purpose of this experiment is to evaluate the effectiveness of
Perspective-Based Reading (PBR), as applied to requirements documents,
by comparing it against another reading technique.
We designed this experiment to address three primary questions:
- If groups of individuals (such as during inspection meetings) were given
unique PBR roles, would a larger collection of defects be found than if each
read the document in a similar way?
- If individuals read a document using PBR, would a different number of
defects be found than if they read the document using their usual technique?
- Does a reviewer's experience in the role influence performance when using
PBR?
