The second Workshop on MAthematical performance Modeling
and Analysis (MAMA 2000) seeks to bring together researchers working on
the mathematical, methodological and theoretical aspects of performance
analysis, modeling and optimization. MAMA 2000 encourages the
submission of abstracts generally describing early research in these
more mathematical areas of performance analysis.
This year's workshop will be somewhat different from the first MAMA
workshop in that submissions will be reviewed by the
steering
committee, from which the committee will select 10-15 abstracts for
inclusion in the workshop program.
The workshop will precede the main
SIGMETRICS
Conference (June 19-21) and have the final versions of the abstracts
appear in a special issue of
Performance
Evaluation Review (PER). Note that there are no copyright issues
with PER, and thus authors will have complete freedom to submit their work
elsewhere.
Authors are asked to submit 2-4 page, single-column abstracts before
the deadline of April 7, 2000. Abstracts should be submitted
electronically, as e-mail attachments, to mss@watson.ibm.com. Postscript
is preferred, although other arrangements can be made by contacting
Mark
Squillante.
Notification of acceptance will be sent out by May
8, 2000.
A version of the abstracts will be provided at the workshop (e.g., 1
page summaries). Final versions of the abstracts, to appear in the special
issue of
PER, will be due July
21, 2000 thus making it possible for authors to incorporate the results
of, or simply mention, any relevant discussions at the workshop. The final
versions will be around 2-5 pages (depending upon the final number of abstracts)
using the
PER .sty file.
