I m a Computer Scientist, humanitarian, enterpreneur and dancer .My motto in life is "Nar Seva Narayan Seva" (Hindi) which means "Service to Humanity is service to God".


I m pursuing my PhD at the Department of Computer Science, University of Maryland, College Park, MD. I work as a Research Assistant in MINDLAB under UMIACS. I completed my undergraduate education from Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University(IT-BHU), India in Electronics Engineering in 2004. I  worked for Samsung R&D Center, Bangalore, India from 2004-2006.
My research interests are
  • Optimization in Online Advertising Domain
  • Information and Data Mining - information and data mining, intent detection, information organization and extraction
  • {Pervasive Computing} - location determination technologies, context aware systems

I was born and brought up in Roorkee,Uttarakhand,India.I completed 14 years of my school education at St.Anns Senior Secondary School ,Roorkee. Apart from being a known as an IIT town,Roorkee has its own charisma.It has a big Ganga Canal flowing right through its center. The Ganga river has always inspired to be pure and never stop in life.


My hobbies include dancing,reading,travelling.Being a gemini, I love making friends and try to keep in touch with all.My husband Nirmal Sharma is my best friend ,he is my biggest strength and my guiding star.
