SUMMARY
Through looking at the cashe, system bus and type of pipeline used on
the Pentium Pro Processor, we hope you have been able to see how a
real-life computer architecture incorporates some of the ideas we have
learned in class and in Hennessy and Patterson's book. The Pentium Pro
based some of it's hardware design on computers that have already been
proven to work and then added new modifications to allow it to work even
faster. The future generation of computers, which are already being
seen, will use ideas from the Pentium Pro, along with their own
modifications. The Pentium Pro and its architecture is just one design
on our quest for faster and faster computers.
