Yu (Hope) is a PhD student at University of Maryland, College Park, working with Prof. Rachel Rudinger and Prof. Hal Daumé III. She earned her master’s degree from University of Southern California, where she worked with Prof. Nanyun Peng on natural language processing (NLP) research. Broadly, she is interested in human-centered trustworthy and socially aware NLP. She is passionate about learning languages and exploring intersections between linguistics and social psychology or human behaviors. She has been working on commonsense reasoning and bias and fairness in NLP.
