Monte Hoover

Hi everyone! I'm a PhD student working in Machine Learning. Prior to coming here I managed a small group at Microsoft and before that I was an officer in the U.S. Army. A good friend of mine at Microsoft got his PhD from UMD and convinced me to apply here.

Outside of work I enjoy bicycling and backpacking. If anyone else bike commutes from northwest DC let me know. And I’m always up for a bike ride in the city or an easy going ride on the trails around UMD if anyone is interested.
