Piazza Guideline
We will be using (CMSC 106 Piazza) for
class
communication. Regarding Piazza:

Posting of code publicly is not allowed on Piazza.
Anyone posting any kind of code may receive an XF in the
course.. Please carefully read the Piazza Guidelines
below.

The prefered mechanism to address course questions (projects,
lecture material, etc.) is during office hours, in lab, and lecture.

You will not be able to register to Piazza yourself.
Your instructor will register you using the e-mail you have in the
school system..
What is Not Allowed

Posting any kind of code.

Requesting or providing information/suggestions on how to implement
a project.

Requesting or providing information on how to pass a public or release test.

Posting any information about a test or a quiz (even after it has
taken place).

If in doubt, it is best if you let a staff member address any question
a student has posted; this will prevent any misunderstandings.
What is Allowed

Questions about tools we use for this course.

Requesting information on how to submit a project.

Asking where a project description, examples, etc. can be found.
-
Requesting clarification of concepts covered in class or class examples.
-
Administrative issues like class cancelation, deadlines, office
hours, TA missing, etc.
- Examples of valid postings associated with projects

Do we need to use arrays?

Can we use global variables?

Do we need to provide student tests?
Before You Post

Make sure you check class announcements as the answer to your question
might be there.

Read the project/exercise description carefully. Often questions
posted in Piazza are already addressed in the description.

There are some Piazza folders you should not post to. For example,
each project/exercise will have a clarification folder; do not reply nor
post any message in those folders.
