SFO scores posted

• The grades server now shows "sfo Final" and "Total" scores.
• Your "sfo Final" score is the weighted average of your scores in exams 1-4, scaled to 80.
• Your current Total score is the aggregate using your "sfo Final" score and a project 8 score of zero.
• Ultimately the Total will include your project 8 score.

Ultimate Total score

• If you skip the final, your Total will be the current Total plus project 8 contribution:

  Total = (current Total) + (p8 score)*(6/100)
  

• If you do the final, your Total will be the obtained using your actual Final score:

  Total = (current Total) + (p8 score)*(6/100) - (sfo Final) + (actual Final)
  

Tentative cutoffs

A  ≥ 85
A- ≥ 82
B  ≥ 75
B- ≥ 71
C  ≥ 65
C- ≥ 61

Ultimate cutoffs

• The ultimate cutoffs will not be higher than the tentative cutoffs; they may be lower. For example:
  • You are assured of a B if your current Total is 75, you skip the Final, and you get zero in project 8.
  • You are assured of a B if your current Total is 69, you skip the Final, and you get 100 in project 8.
• I will most probably (but not certainly) have cutoffs for A+, B+, C+, etc.
