PLDI 2004 Hotel Information

The conference is being held at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington DC at 2401 M. St, NW.

Hotel rooms at the Fairmont are available at a special PLDI rate of $199/night, up until May 13th, 2004.

The hotel is located in downtown DC, near George Washingon University, Foggy Bottom, Dupont Circle and Georgetown. The hotel is two blocks north of the Foggy Bottom - GWU metro stop on the DC Metro System.

Alternative accomodations

Note: these are not official hotels, just things I've found through on-line searches. There is no guarantee that any of these hotels will have rooms available, or that you will be able to get the rates I found.

Easy walking distance

• The Melrose Hotel. Two blocks from the hotel. They don't seem to have anything available for the nights of the 7th and 8th, but have rates of $229 for the 9th, $149 for the 10th, and $109 for the 11th and 12th.
• The River Inn. Just a couple of blocks from the Fairmont, they were showing a rate of $219 available.
• the Watergate Hotel. About 5 blocks from the Fairmont, showing a rate of $209/night available.
• Best Western New Hampshire Suites Hotel, 1121 New Hampshire Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20037

  This rate doesn't seem to be available anymore, but feel free to double check.

  Note: there web interface seemed very buggy and confused as to whether or not they did have rooms available during the conference. However, at several points it said that rooms as low as $159, or $145 for AAA members, were available.

  Hiking/Cab distance

  • Embassy Inn, 1627 16th Street NW, Washington, DC 20009. About 1 mile from the Fairmont, $119/night

    Metro distance

    Metro distance. Several hotels are a short metro ride away from the hotel. The Rosslyn metro stop is one stop, less than 5 minutes, away from the Foggy Bottom metro stop.

    These aren't any special accomodations arranged from PLDI; just want I was able to find via on-line searches. You may be able to do better, and the rates are not guaranteed.

    • Washington, D.C.-Days Inn Arlington, Va, 2201 Arl Blvd. (Rte 50 at Ft. Myer), Arlington, VA 22201

      Rates starting at $56. A metro stop is six blocks away, and they have a scheduled courtesy van to the Rosslyn Metro stop.

    • Quality Hotel Courthouse Plaza, 1200 North Courthouse Rd., Arlington, VA 22201

      Rates starting at $113, located three blocks from the Clarendon Metro stop.

    • Holiday Inn in Rosslyn at the Key Bridge, 1900 N. Fort Myer Dr., Arlington, VA 22209

      Rates starting around $135, one block from the Rosslyn Metro stop. 1.3 miles from the Fairmont.
