Sharing and Interacting

Social media is ultimately a way to share information and interact with others. In this section of class, we are going to look at community-maintained resources (where the community, rather than a central authority) comes togehter to provide something to others and location-based services (like foursquare and other checkin-based features).

My favorite part of this week is that you get to go outside and actually participate! I'm sending you geocaching as this week's homework. This is everyone's favorite week in class. This week should be interesting since you all are distributed all over the place. If you're near UMD, I suggest you try the caches I've hidden in College Park. If you're far away, there are certainly caches near you. More details in the exercise.
