Network Basics
This class is set up for people who have never done network analysis before and have no background in this area. Thus, we are starting at the absolute basic level, learning
terminology and working our way up to statistics. This lesson, given in two parts, is a summary of quantitative and descriptive social network anlaysis, and you will use
these skills in every other part of the class. If there is anything you don't understand, please discuss it with the class and/or email me for clarification.
Also, as I'm sure you noticed, I wrote the book we are using for class. The book was based off the class, so the chapters match very cleanly with the material we are covering.
Please read the chapters - the reason the text on this website is relatively brief is because I wrote everything that I think you should know in the book! The lectures accompany
the chapters, and you can decide in which order you prefer to do the readings and lectures.
