The results
described above suggest that better techniques for analyzing artifacts
may do more to improve effectiveness than better inspection methods
will. There are two contexts in which reviewers analyze an artifact:
individually and as a team. In this work, I explored the relative
strengths and weaknesses of Team analysis versus Individual analysis,
and explored new individual analysis techniques. These results suggest
that team analysis may not be more effective than individuals working
alone, and that improved defect detection techniques may indeed improve
overall inspection effectiveness.
