• Compile user level syntax into one or more rules for subsequent activation inside POSTGRES
  

• Class-Minus- holds all the OID for any instance in the class that is to be deleted for the version, negative differential

• Class-Plus- holds any new instances added to the version as well as he new record for any modification to an instance of the class

• Only possible because of forward and backward chaining
