History: This project was mainly conducted during Jean-Daniel Fekete's visit at HCIL in the summer of 1998. A first prototype was developed rapidly, and revised during the fall. The presentation at CHI'99 generated a lot of interest so we decided to make the source available for review (see below).

Warning: As of 2020 the Java Applets do not run on web browsers for security reasons. We have been successful running them by installing a google chrome extension called CheerpJ Applet Runner.
Excentric Labeling is one of the HCIL products available for licencing by the Office of Technology Liaison of the University of Maryland.
