Refer to campus directions for reaching the UMD College Park campus by plane and train. Driving directions for reaching A. V. Williams building are given below. These have been adapted from the Directions to the Computer Science Department.Getting to campus from the Capital Beltway
Get onto the NNE area of the Beltway (a circular highway that runs all the way around DC). Take exit 25-South from the Beltway onto Route 1 (also known as Baltimore Ave). This exit is immediately to the east of the Beltway/I95 interchange.
Continue about 2 miles south on Route 1. The main entrance to the campus is on your first right (on Campus Drive) after you pass Jerry's subs and pizza.
Getting to campus from Route 1 North
If you are coming from DC, you might find it easier just to go north on Route 1. This does involve a fair bit of traffic, traffic lights, and confusion, so it is not particularly recommended for people from out of town.
Coming from the south, once you get into College Park, there will be traffic lights at Knox Road, College Ave, Rossborough Drive, and Campus Drive. Turn left on Campus drive.
Directions to the A.V. Williams Building
Turn right immediately after getting onto Campus Drive from Route 1. This is Paint Branch Drive. The AV Williams building is the second building on your right. The AV Williams building is a U shaped 3 & 4 story building. There is a one story building (engineering annex building) in the middle of the U.
Parking: There is a visitor's parking lot to your left just beyond the building. You can also consult the campus map for futher visitor's parking places (we are building 115 in the map grid F6 and G6).
Getting to GVIL
Take the elevator at the center of the A. V. Williams to the fourth floor. Refer to the fourth-floor layout below: the elevators are at the left and entrance to the lab in room 4406 is from the far right corridor.
