General Information
- The next quiz will be posted on Wed, Nov 11, 8 AM (morning), and
due the same day, Wed, Nov 11, at 7:15 PM (evening).
- This quiz will be about drawing memory maps and no other topic (no
coding questions). You need to be able to draw memory maps as described at MemoryMapsInformation. You should know how to draw maps for one dimensional arrays, but you are not responsible for drawing maps for two-dimensional arrays. In addition, you are not
responsible for drawing maps for code that is recursive (factorial example
in the above reference).
-
You can draw your memory map any way you want. For example, you can draw it on
a piece of paper and take a picture of it, use word or a drawing application.
You will not get additional credit for using word or a drawing application.
-
To submit your work:
- Download the Eclipse project MemoryMapQuiz.zip.
- Convert your diagram to a pdf file named
diagram.pdf (all in lowercase) and place this file in the
folder memorydiagram of the Eclipse project. After
copying the file, submit your project as usual. We have left a sample
diagram.pdf file that you will overwrite with your diagram.
-
One alternative to turn an image into a pdf is
Adobe Image to pdf.
- After submitting your work, verify you provided the correct submission
by downloading from the submit server the last submission you did.
- We will grade the last submission you provide; you can submit as many times as you
want before the deadline.
- You can start testing the submission process now, so please do not wait until the day
of the quiz.
- All submissions must be done via the submit server (no e-mail).
- About Piazza use during the quiz:
- You can only post clarification questions in Piazza.
-
Use the folder quiz4 to post
questions.
-
We will use the folder quiz4Clarifications to post
clarifications.
-
Posting of any kind of code or diagram in Piazza, during the
exam period, represents an academic integrity violation
and will be reported as such.
-
You cannot answer students' questions; only TAs and
instructors can do so.
- You must work by yourself.
- You can use class resources (lecture notes, lecture/lab examples,
videos, etc.), but no other resources (e.g., code from the web).
- Sharing of quiz solutions represents an academic integrity
violation and will be reported as such.
- Do not wait until close to the deadline to submit your work.
Network problems or submit server overloading are not valid
excuses for not submitting your work.
- If you are an ADS student: The provided timeframe takes
into consideration your time allocation. If you need any
other assistance, contact your instructor. Ignore this
entry if you don't know what an ADS student is.
- Dear Students: it is in your best interest to complete
this work by yourself, and following the guidelines described above.
You need to identify which topics you understand and which ones
you don't, so you can be successful in other CS courses.
